He's had hit albums and won a Pulitzer Prize, but the latest honor bestowed on jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis may top the lot: His music has been set in stone. Earlier this month, in the small town of Marciac in the south of France, officials unveiled 14 stone engravings, each etched with a page of Marsalis' "Marciac Suite," which he composed last year in honor of the town's annual jazz festival. Marsalis, who will perform there Thursday, said he had attended the festival for the past 18 years. "I love it," he said. "I like the food, the sunshine, the people."
