Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Clyde William Mills, passed away peacefully on August 22 at home from natural causes. He was 90 years old.
Born March 26, 1908, West Weber, Utah, to Richard Issac and Josephine Deseret Romrell Mills, he married Helen Terry on March 1, 1933 in the Manti Temple. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Clyde had a life-time love for missionary work. He served a full-time mission in the Northern States Mission (Michigan) and served in a stake mission presidency and many stake missions. He also served in many church positions including bishop, high counselor and as a temple worker. He worked as a watchmaker, having attended watch-making school in St. Louis, Missouri. Clyde was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking family and friends on fishing outings. He had a great love and concern for the welfare of others and has often been involved in finding ways to help. He will be missed by all who knew him.Survived by his loving wife, Helen; children: Melvin, Bountiful; Joyce (Vernon) Jensen, Bountiful; Lynn (Carla), Silverdale, WA; Alan (Elaine), Brigham City; Galen (Margaret), Riverton; Paul (Virginia), Orem; Elaine (David) Angerhofer, Draper. He had 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice Team: Meg, Camile, Ray and Lo who gave such special gentleness and care to Clyde.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 4th Ward, 102 East 1400 South. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and Wednesday at the ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
