Owen Clifton Lambourne passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 1998 of natural causes.
He was born March 29, 1899 to John E. Lambourne and Alice Jackson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Mary Brockbank on June 29, 1921 in the Salt Lake Temple.Owen was employed for 32 years by Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company. He was one of the many fine men and women who pioneered and converted the telephone systems in Holladay, Murray, Midvale, Taylorsville and Kearns from the era of switchboards to the systems of today.
Owen was one of the few remaining veterans of World War I. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1917 through 1919.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest in the Highland View 2nd Ward.
He was a kind and loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Owen is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Wayne (Elizabeth); Gerald (Louise) and two daughters, LaVerne (Gail) Jenkins; Elaine (Richard) Boyer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Highland View Ward, 2980 South 2790 East. A viewing will be held Saturday, 9-10:45 a.m. at the Ward. Interment will be at the Holladay Memorial Gardens following the Funeral Services.
