The culminating event of Provo's "Good Character Month" will be a family program at 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30, in the Tabernacle.

Mayor Lewis Billings and author Stephen R. Covey will be the featured speakers.The Provo and Timpview High School choirs will perform original music written by Janice Kapp Perry, Joyce Lundberg and Sharleen Thomas. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.

August, proclaimed "Good Character Month" by Billings and the City Council, is the kickoff month for the activities of PACE - Provo Advancing Character Excellence, Provo's new character education initiative. PTA's and educators will be introducing the principles of responsible thinking and behavior in the Provo District Character Education Policy to the students in each school in Provo during the month.
