I was shocked to receive a piece of franked mail from Congressman Merrill Cook's office that looked more like self-promoting campaign literature than anything else.
It appears that the congressman tries to get re-elected at the expense of every resident in the district and rationalizes it as "keeping us informed." To call a mailing that features gray-scale images of cars in traffic and a picture of Cook standing arm in arm with Sens. Bennett and Hatch in front of the Capitol an "information" mailer is such an obvious distortion. Anyone understanding anything about commercial art and persuasion will see right through these claims.Rep. Cook, will you tell us again about cutting spending and fiscal responsibility?
