Cynthia Cooper scored 21 points and Tina Thompson added 20 as the Houston Comets set a WNBA scoring record Monday night with a 110-65 rout of the Washington Mystics in Washington.

Amaya Valdemoro scored the record-breaking points with a 3-pointer with 37.2 seconds left. The Utah Starzz held the previous record of 102 points, set against Los Angeles on June 23, 1997.
