Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Dorothy Ruth Young Flohr, age 78, passed away August 14, 1998, in Salt Lake City.
Dorothy was born August 16, 1919, in Kaysville Utah, the daughter of George William and Sylvia Maria Barber Young. She married George Arthur Pyper on February 16, 1938, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He later preceded her in death. She then married James Edwin Flohr on November 23, 1955. Dorothy was a kind and loving individual who was devoted to her family; she was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.Survivors include one daughter and one son, Sheri Walter, Salt Lake City, Utah; James Detra Flohr, Sandy City, Utah; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, George Arthur Pyper; two brothers and two sisters, Don B. Young, Elmer R. Young, Sylvia Lavena Turner, and baby sister Bessie.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 1998 , 11 a.m., at the Imperial First Ward, 1560 East Atkin Avenue (2840 South). Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 East Crestwood Road. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
