Cathrine Colapinto of Plantsville, Conn., kisses the name of her son, Edward Christensen, on the mobile Vietnam wall. Colapinto was visiting the wall in Bristol's Veteran's Memorial Park on Wednesday. The wall is half the size of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The idea for a mobile wall was conceived in 1982 at the time the D.C. memorial was dedicated. The intent of the creators of the traveling wall, made of aluminum, is to reach out to Americans who can't make it to the nation's capital.
