Torii Hunter had three hits including his first homer and drove in six runs Thursday night as the Salt Lake Buzz beat the Las Vegas Stars 14-3.
The win was the second straight for the Buzz over the Stars. Salt Lake scored 25 runs in the two games.Hunter's three-run homer capped a five-run third inning that put Salt Lake ahead 8-0.
The Buzz scored three times in the second on a run-scoring double by Marc Lewis, an RBI groundout by Hunter and a run-scoring single by A.J. Pierzynski, who had three hits and two RBIs.
Scott Stahoviak also had three hits for Salt Lake, which collected 18 hits off six Las Vegas pitchers including loser Brian Tollberg (5-4).
Shane Bowers (8-5) was the winner, allowing seven hits and all three Las Vegas runs in 5 2-3 innings.
Aaron Guiel led off the Las Vegas sixth with his first homer, and the Stars also scored on a sacrifice fly by Creighton Gubanich and an RBI double by Archi Cianfrocco later in the inning.
