David Clark Cartwright, age 54, of Provo, died August 7, 1998, at Provo, Utah.

He was born January 9, 1944, in Alexandria, LA, to Victor Ivan and Fae Clark Cartwright. He grew up in Provo, Utah, and graduated from Provo High School and attended BYU. He served a mission to Australia and served in the military.He loved working for the Fish and Game after high school. He worked for Dean Peay Construction, and in banking and insurance. The last 15 years he has worked with the family business, Rapid Transit.

He married Shauna Gurr, October 4, 1969, in Provo. The marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.

He loved his family and enjoyed all outdoor activities; his favorite was boating at Lake Powell with his family. He had a generous heart and did many unnoticed things for people in this life. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Shauna; six children, Kimberli, Matthew, Carrie, Michael, Kylee, Christopher; and one grandchild, Madisen Cartwright; his parents of Provo; two brothers, Victor I. Cartwright II (Lynne), John Cartwright; two sisters, Ann (Raymond) Fraedrich, and Jan (Glade) Collard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at the Slate Canyon LDS Chapel, 715 South Utah Avenue (approximately 10th East), in Provo. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday morning at the ward chapel, one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo Cemetery.
