Cub Scouts and their leaders will be able to earn a new "Fair Patch" based on activities at the Utah County Fair Aug. 21 and 22 at the McKay Center at Utah Valley State College. The program is spearheaded by Utah County Commissioner Jerry Grover.

There are differing requirements for each of three age groups (5-7, 8-10, and 11 and up). In all cases earning the patch involves attending the fair in uniform with the Scout's den, pack or family then completing specific educational and service activities while at the fair. For information about the program contact the Utah County Commission offices at 370-8135 or from the Utah National Parks Council at 373-4185. The patches are available from the Scout Shop, at 250 W. 500 North.
