Cleo McCracken passed away of cancer on August 5, 1998 at her sister's home.

She was born in Smithfield, Utah to Earl Scrowther and Margaret Shelton Hill McCracken, May 24, 1917.Cleo graduated from Utah State University and Syracuse University in New York. She was employed as an educator all of her life and retired as Director of Continuing Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She returned to Salt Lake in 1982.

Cleo has done volunteer work at the University Hospital and the Utah Heritage Foundation and was a member of AAUW. Member of the LDS Church.

Survived by sister, Margaret Nelson; and nephew, Bruce (Kathy) Nelson, Minneapolis, Minnesota; niece, Janet Novey, New York City; as well as several grand nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Vanice Schmidgall, Upland, California; dear friend, Leonard Berghout; and many friends throughout the country.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kent Di Fiore and Dr. Dale Richins and their staff for the care and concern given to Cleo.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 1998 in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Northmont Park). Friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation is invited to do so to the American Cancer Society.
