Physicians at Primary Children's Medical Center will be watching Kendra Herrin carefully this weekend, according to Bonnie Midget, hospital spokeswoman.
Kendra, 4, who was born joined to her twin, Maliyah, at mid-torso, had a rough time overnight Thursday. Because she was throwing up repeatedly, possibly due to a bowel blockage, her feedings have been stopped, and doctors are watching to see if the problem corrects itself, according to the family blog.
If it doesn't, she may need an operation.
The daughters of Erin and Jake Herrin of North Salt Lake were separated Aug. 7 and 8 in an operation that spanned 26 hours. They had shared a liver, large intestine and access to Kendra's kidney, so Maliyah will need a kidney transplant.
