Maliyah Herrin spent a more comfortable day at Primary Children's Medical Center on Wednesday as she and her twin, Kendra, recover from the surgery that separated them. The two were born in February 2002 joined at the abdomen.

Doctors operated for 26 hours Aug. 7 and 8 to separate the girls, who are the daughters of Jake and Erin Herrin of North Salt Lake.

"Maliyah is much more comfortable today and less agitated. Both girls are still improving," said Bonnie Midget, spokeswoman for the hospital.

The girls are still in intensive care and will be hospitalized for at least several more weeks.
