A pickup truck lost control and struck three vehicles Monday, killing seven people and injuring five others.

An entire family of four was among those killed in the late morning crash on state highway 95 about a mile inside the Colorado River Indian Reservation, a few miles from the California border, police said. The pickup apparently went off the two-lane road and over-corrected, swinging back into oncoming traffic and striking a sedan, a van and a third vehicle, said Ken Schwab, tribal police chief. Three people in the truck were killed, he said.
