Dwight Wilson Loosli, age 86, passed away August 4, 1998 in Murray, Utah following complications of surgery. He was greatly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Born December 20, 1911 in Marysville, Idaho, son of Edward Samuel and Nellie Mae Price Loosli. Married Hazel Glover September 12, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple; she preceded him in death June 17, 1967. Married Eiley "Scottie" D. Newell November 21, 1967. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in many callings including a mission to the Northern States, and as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. Served as Sheriff of Teton County, Idaho. Retired from teaching in the Granite School District. He was an avid fisherman, BYU fan and loved gardening.Survived by his wife, Scottie; children, Richard (Joanne) Loosli, Orem; Ruth (Jesse) Cruser, West Valley City; Kathleen (Elburn) McConnell, West Jordan; Marianne Madrigal, Taylorsville; Terry (Colleen), West Jordan; John (Deborah) Loosli, Germany; Hazel Loosli, Taylorsville; Scottie (Clifford) Munns, Oakley, California; George Bryce (Jean) Rappleye, St. George; 30 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith and Larry; sister, Lois Mickelson. Preceded in death by parents; two brothers; two sisters; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 1998, 12 noon at the West Jordan Bingham Creek Stake, 8950 South 1300 West. Friends may call Friday, August 7, 1998, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m.
Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
