Celia Merlene Jex Turner, age 63, passed away peacefully July 31, 1998, at her home in Bountiful, Utah. Heavenly Father decided she had fought cancer long enough.
Born March 21, 1935, the daughter of James M. and Celia Hiatt Jex, in Provo, Utah. Married Ernest E. Turner August 26, 1959, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Stake Young Women's President, Stake Relief Society President, and as a Bountiful Temple ordinance worker. She also worked in the Public Affairs Dept. of the LDS Church.
Survived by her husband, Ernest; children, C. Tami McCall (Bill), Bountiful; Kellie J'Nae Turner, Bountiful; Derik Jex Turner (Julie), Syracuse; Stefanie Cae Turner, Bountiful; Staci Carole Turner, Bountiful; and sisters; Betty Sharp, Vernal; Mary Jolley, Salt Lake City; Margaret Moyes, Bountiful; Joyce Westenskow, Bountiful; and eight grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lorin Jex, Frank Jex, sister Eileen Peay, and her son Rusty.
She will be missed for her wit, her cooking, her laughter and most of all her love.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 1998, at the Bountiful 43rd Ward Chapel, 990 North 100 West. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and again Wednesday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery.
