Dan Pierce, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side, Saturday, August 1, 1998, from complications due to cancer.

Dan was born March 22, 1924, in Wellington, utah, the son of Willard Levar and Rosie Blackburn Pierce. He married Margie Sweat January 24, 1946, in Wellington, Utah.Dan enjoyed family life, wood working, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a very faithful husband and father. Time spent with his grandchildren was enjoyed and cherished. His grandchildren loved his patient, caring, and fun-loving personality.

Dan served in World War II from 1943 through 1947 and was a member of the VFW. He retired from Hill Air Force Base as an electrician and from the Davis School District as a school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; four children, Ronald (Betty) Pierce, Diane (Gary) Purrington, Karen (Clair) Hamblin and Shauna (Randy) Nye. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; his brothers, James, Perry, Murry, Oscar, Ralph, Fred and Clyde Pierce; his sisters, Della Mooney, Lola Spackman, Evelyn Merrill, Faye Sykes.

He was preceded in death by his baby daughter, parents, and two brothers, Lewis and Ted Pierce.

Funeral services will he held Wednesday, August 5, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Clearfield 10th LDS Ward Chapel, 300 No. 200 W. Friends and family may call at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will be at the Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah.
