Our sweet mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, Thora Stephens Sharp, passed away peacefully July 29, 1998, at the age of 94.

Thora was born March 21, 1904 to John and Mary Alice Stephens in Henefer, Utah, where she spent her early years on the family farm. Upon leaving farm life, she ventured to Pocatello, Idaho, where she worked at Woolworths. Then, after attending Henaagers Business School in Salt Lake City, she went to work for the Utah Power and Light Company where she met J. Steward Sharp, Jr.She married J. Steward Sharp, Jr. on June 11, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away November 18, 1975.

Thora excelled at the game of golf and as a result played on the ladies team at the Oakridge Country Club for many years. More than anything she was a selfless, devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of the LDS church.

Thora is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Barney; son-in-law, Jay Barney; six grandsons and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Cecile Dearden, Erma Richins, Naoma Gardiner and Lavelle Stephens. She was preceded in death by her husband and also by two sisters and one brother, Mary Keaton, Ilene Cook, and Ordell Stephens.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday August 4, 1998 at the Henefer Chapel, Henefer, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment, Henefer Cemetery.

Her radiant smile will always be with us. We love you.
