Our tender, kind, beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Theora Clark Young, finished her earthly work and was peacefully called home on July 31, 1998 at the age of 71 from complications of pneumonia and heart condition in Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Born January 28, 1927, in Provo, Utah, to Elmo and Melba Thorn Clark. She married the love of her life, Glenn Earl Young, on February 14, 1947 in Lindon, Utah which was later solemnized January 31, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1973.She was active in the LDS Church and had a very strong testimony which strengthened many others. After her marriage, she lived in Orem for 11 years, and Pleasant Grove the final 39 years of her life. She loved working in her beautiful garden, which she won awards for. She was loved by many. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and her own children brought total happiness to her life. She loved little children and they loved her in return. She accomplished much in her life. She loved music and wrote beautiful poetry. She always had a glowing smile. We'll miss you so, our precious mom.
She is survived by her four children, Carla Kirby of Sandy, Utah; Larry Young of Sandy, Utah; Valerie (Gene) Nelson of Pleasant Grove; Jerry (Kerri) Young of Pleasant Grove; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, J. Bruce Clark, Provo; and sisters, Sylvia Pitts, Orem; and Lynda Garrett, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, at the Pleasant Grove 9th Ward Chapel, 400 East and 200 South in Pleasant Grove at 12 noon. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Springer-Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
