Ralph Emmett Smith, age 68, of Roosevelt, died July 30, 1998 at his home.
He was born February 8, 1930, to William Francis and Iva May Smith in Park City, Utah. He married Beverly Mitchell on September 5, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ralph was a veteran of the Korean war and was honorably discharged from the Army, Navy, and the Air Force. He loved dirt which showed through when he worked for the Breitling Brothers Construction Company and the John Fausett Construction Company. He was also a supervisor of the county landfill for many years.He was member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32nd Degree Mason. Ralph enjoyed oil painting, and the beautiful mountain scenery. His real love was music, especially singing and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Roosevelt; children, Pam (Darren) Williams, Roosevelt; Ralph "Rocky" (Jolene) Smith; Sandra May (Jeff) Spencer; and Steven R. Smith; all of Salt Lake City; brothers, Francis Bernard Smith, of Washington; and Bob Smith, of Alaska; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and the multitude he took under his wing. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rickie Sessions; grandchildren, John Adam and Tonya Lynn Smith; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 1998 at 10 a.m. at the Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. that morning. Burial will be at the Roosevelt Memorial Park with Military Honors and Masonic rites.
