The Salt Lake City Police Department is looking for a suspect in a Wednesday evening attempted kidnapping in the parking garage of Crossroads Plaza.

According to police reports, a woman left her job for the day and got into her car when a man came up from behind and pointed a gun at her.The woman waved over two mall security guards and was able to flee the vehicle and run toward the mall entrance. The man pointed the gun at the security guards, then ran back into the mall, past the woman and through Mervyn's, according to police.

A security guard at Mervyn's said he believes he saw the same man shoplifting from the store earlier in the week and identified him from surveillance video.

Police are looking for a white male in his 20s with brown hair and eyes and a medium build.
