An American held hostage with 51 others for more than a year in the U.S. Embassy in Iran will meet for the first time with one of his captors at a forum in Paris, organizers said Sunday.

The meeting was scheduled to take place Friday at the UNESCO headquarters, according to the host, the Centre for World Dialogue. The pro-government newspaper Iran News reported Sunday that the encounter will be between Barry Rosen, the former U.S. Embassy's press officer, and Abbas Abdi, a leader of the Iranian students who helped organize the assault on the embassy in November 1979.
