Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Reinald Bernell Jensen, 76, returned to his Heavenly Father, after a sudden heart attack, on July 21, 1998.
He was born December 27, 1921, to Archibald Wesley and Sarah Sylvia Stewart Jensen in Spanish Fork, Utah. He graduated from East High where he was very active in all aspects of athletics. He married Marion Francis Waldo on November 1, 1940; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He was a High Priest in the Valley View Second Ward and served in various callings. He and his eternal companion served a temple mission in the Philippines. He was part owner and worked at Intermountain Electric for 43 years before retiring. Reinald loved his family and supported them in whatever they were doing. He liked to work in his yard and his garden. He was involved with square dancing and was an avid softball player. Even after he quit playing, he still was an avid fan and could often be found at the ball field. Reinald left behind a legacy of love and caring. He exemplified the pure love of Christ. He was happiest when he was helping others.Reinald is survived by his wife; stepmother, Phyllis Jensen; sons, Gary B. (LuAnn) Jensen; Karl D. (Pam) Jensen; daughters, Diane F. (Steve) Staples; Cherie C. (Scott) Maxfield; Kohnie K. Jensen; sisters, Verda Parker; DellaVene (Glen) Post; Mary Artence Sheehan; Josephine Burningham; Betty Veloy (Jack) Kingsbury; brother-in-laws, Vern H. (Renee) Waldo; Marvin R. Waldo; sister-in-laws, Berniece G. Madsen; Mary Bell G. Jensen; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive, (2145 East). Family and friends may call Sunday, July 26, 1998, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East and Monday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
