The Public Safety Foundation will teach two first-responder classes to train individuals for advanced first aid.
Topics in the monthlong course include medical emergency training, personal safety and protection, anatomy, breathing-pulmonary resuscitation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Emergency medical technicians can use the class to qualify for 40 recertification hours.
Two 40-hour classes are offered starting Aug. 4 and 13, on consecutive Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each class starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
Students will take two written tests to certify as a Department of Transportation first responder for three years.
