Anneke (Anna) Lena Vermy Sparreboom, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 19, 1998 in Salt Lake City.

Born May 30, 1911 in Rotterdam, Holland to Cornelia V. and Abraham Vermy. Came with her family to the United States in 1923. Anna and her sweetheart, Peter Sparreboom, were married for time and eternity on November 9, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.During her lifetime she served faithfully in many church callings, her favorite being her work with the Gleaner Girls. She was president of Madison School PTA, Granite School District. She was active for many years in the Salt Lake China Painters group and served as president of that organization. She worked along side her husband in building and running the family business, Burton Place Dairy. Anna was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; three children, Christina Miller, of Malad, Idaho, Peter (Carolyn) Sparreboom Jr. and Cora (Robert) Adams, all of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Abraham Vermy; a sister, Lena Jacobsen; and a grandson, Peter Miller.

Funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, 1998, 11 a.m., Haven-Kimball Ward Chapel, 2300 S. 300 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church Monday, one hour prior to the service. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
