In the wake of the recent natural disasters - El Nino, the fires in Florida, droughts, tornadoes, floods, etc. - it may be well to consider something that I think more people are thinking than are saying.

Could it be that these disasters are occurring because the man up above is trying to get our attention or send us a message? Could it be that these things are happening because there are too many guys and girls living together without being married? Or too many people shopping on the Sabbath day? Or too many teenage pregnancies? Or too many abortions? Or too many people using liquor, drugs, etc.?I am reminded of what former LDS President Spencer W. Kimball said on TV at an April conference of the church back in the late 1970s. He told his audience that the reason for the drought we were having at that time was that people were not keeping the Sabbath. Two months later, in the latter part of May, we had a record rainfall. Could it be that the rain came because more people started keeping the Sabbath after the chide from President Kimball?

Could it be that all these disasters would become rare if more people would clean up their act? If the answer is yes, then all I can say is that it's too bad the innocent have to suffer along with the guilty.
