Salt Lake police are slated to begin a program Thursday night rewarding children who demonstrate good behavior.

Youngsters who behave in a positive manner will receive a "ticket" good for a cool drink at participating Salt Lake 7-Eleven stores.The program officially begins at the 7-Eleven at 200 E. 800 South at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Dubbed "Operation Chill," the program involves Salt Lake Police Chief Ruben Ortega and other officers scouting for good behavior. Starting that evening, officers will issue the first of 30,000 coupons for the free drinks to children along the route for the annual Days of '47 Parade.

Operation Chill, in its fourth year, will continue throughout the summer.
