Ace Jones, at a young 74, will live on in our hearts as a devoted family man, adventurer, and animal lover.
His life with Rossine Woodruff began on July 11, 1946, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they filled their home with six wonderful children, Kathy (Judd) Dority, Ken (Joyce) Jones, Sandy (Merritt) Garrett, Randy (Susanne) Jones, Rusty (Barbara) Jones and Lynnette (Alex) Bradshaw.Asael's helpful, kind and caring personality contributed to his ability to accept every person. It never prevented him from engaging in a friendly argument, especially about the scriptures, a subject very familiar to him.
Ace worked at Kennecott for 30 years along with several other jobs. His ethics of hard work were instilled in his posterity.
Ace overcame several physical trials, enduring almost without complaint. He appeared his usual "immortal" self until his recent brief illness which he handled with dignity.
Asael was the son of William E. and Mary Ann Rowley Jones of Wellington, Utah. He is survived by wife, Rossine; two brothers, Aaron (Thora) and William (Olive); sisters, Irene Peterson, Vera (Louis) Lockwood; six children; 24 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, with many more to come. Preceded in death by an infant son; parents; brothers, Arthur R. and J. Edward; and sister, Louella Downard.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff (especially the doctors and nurses) of the V.A. Hospital for their loving care, concern and extraordinary support of the family.
