In his letter to the editor ("Democrat needed in House," July 15), Calvin Rampton says that Utah should elect a Democrat to the House because currently, "In these meetings among the Democrats, the interests of Utah are just not considered."

Does anyone remember how "considerate" the Democrats were to the people of Utah's Third District for electing Bill Orton? As we all know, President Clinton and the Democrats rewarded them by stealing a huge chunk of their land, which had been held in trust for Utah's school-children.Now Mr. Rampton thinks we in the Second District should elect Lily Eskelsen to Congress in order to get better treatment from the Democrats. Haven't we learned anything from history?
