First-time freshmen who will attend Southern Utah University this fall will have several dates this summer from which to choose a required one-day "University Orientation."
"We are conducting these one-day orientation sessions to help incoming students ease the transition to university life at SUU," Judy Bonniksen, director of the university's student development center, said.One week in August still is reserved for the orientation.
Sessions will begin at 8 a.m. each day, Aug. 17-21. Orientation will conclude at 6:30 p.m. each day.
Parents of first-time SUU freshmen may also participate in the orientation, if they choose.
The required registration form is also available through the SUU Student Development Center, 351 W. Center St., Cedar City, UT 84720. (Phone 435-586-5419).
Completed forms should be received five days prior to the requested orientation date.
Costs for the orientation are $35 for materials, snacks, and meals and $15 for a class credit fee. Parents may attend for $15 (up to two parents and/or guardians). Students and parents may register by phone by calling (435) 586-5419 or by fax at (435) 865-8055.
