Linda Tripp, a key witness in the grand jury investigation of President Clinton's relationship with Monica Lewinsky, was among the hundreds of people from previous Republican administrations whose FBI background files were obtained by the Clinton White House, The Washington Times reported today.

The conservative group Judicial Watch filed a $90 million federal lawsuit in 1996 accusing first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, then-White House counsel Bernard Nussbaum and ex-White House employees Craig Livingstone and Anthony Marceca of engaging in invasion of privacy by requesting the FBI files for partisan political purposes.
