Rep. Les Aspin, D-Wis., chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, said Friday he favored having the U.S. military "snatch" Gen. Manuel Antonio Noriega out of Panama, but "it may be too late to use force now."

Aspin, in an appearance on "John McLaughlin's One on One" television show recorded Friday for broadcast Sunday, said, "What we should have done at the very beginning was use military force."And I mean military force - not blowing a lot of people up, but to go in there and snatch him and take him out."

But, he said, "you can't do it so easily now, because they're on their guard."
