Investigators are probing the death of a woman whose body was found Sunday afternoon inside the trunk of a car in a Salt Lake church parking lot.

The victim has been identified as Sharon Renae Rider, 41, who was last seen leaving the Millcreek apartment of her boyfriend at 11 p.m. July 12.Salt Lake Police Lt. Sandra Urry said Rider's body was discovered at 1:45 p.m. after passers-by noticed an odor coming from a car in the rear parking lot of the LDS Church's Salt Lake 11th Ward building, 951 E. 100 South.

Police are not sure when Rider died, but church members told them the car had been in the parking lot for several days. Urry said homicide detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
