Three Ogden bicyclists were injured Sunday when they were struck by three portable toilets that fell off of a trailer and landed on them while riding along U-89 near the intersection with U-84.

The accident happened about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, a press release from the Utah Highway Patrol states.Apparently, the bicyclists and the trailers were all southbound on U-89, when a gust of wind rose up and knocked over three of the seven portable toilets mount-ed on the trailer. All three cyclists were struck by the toilets, suffering injuries to their heads, backs, arms and legs, UHP said.

Sue Armstrong, 39, Ogden, was listed in stable condition Monday at McKay-Dee Hospital. A spokeswoman there said she expected Armstrong would be released Monday.

Armstrong's husband, Don, 40, was treated and released for his injuries Sunday, also at McKay-Dee.

Mark Holland, 38, South Ogden, the third cyclist was treated at the scene.

The driver of the trailer, Robert Aikins, 45, Salt Lake City, was not injured. He was not cited.
