Charges have been filed against a Taylorsville woman who allegedly shot and killed her ex-husband Monday.

Aziza Wilson, 53, called Salt Lake County Sheriff's dispatch about 4:30 p.m. Monday, to say she had shot her ex-husband, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court Thursday.Sheriff's deputies responded to her home, 5319 South Ridgecrest Drive (3415 West), and found the body of Gay Wilson, 53, the document stated.

"Mr. Wilson had been shot multiple times with a gun," the probable cause statement said.

"During the autopsy, seven bullets were recovered from the body," the document stated, and 11 bullet casings were found in the home.

The victim was struck once in the head, and multiple times in the torso, the statement said.

Aziza Wilson told deputies Gay Wilson had come to her home to fix her air conditioner. She said the two were having a conversation, during which the victim said, "Someday maybe I'll kill you, and then I will have the children all to myself," the document stated.

She then went to her bedroom and took out a gun she had recently purchased - later identified as a .357 magnum, six-shot revolver - and shot the victim in the back as he started to leave, the statement said.

The shooting apparently continued even as Aziza Wilson called a sheriff's dispatcher.

"The dispatcher also heard at least four gunshots while the phone connection was still open," the document stated.

Aziza Wilson was charged with one count of criminal homicide, murder, a first-degree felony.
