This was one trucker who couldn't hold his liquor.
Mike Blakley left Dayton, Ohio, early Friday with a load of Milwaukee's Best beer headed for a Michigan distributor. Nearing his destination, the tractor-trailer broke apart, spilling his load of more than 2,000 cases on state highway 59."It was like a thump I heard, so I looked in my mirrors and beer was flying everywhere," Blakley told The Oakland Press of Pontiac.
Not all of the cases that fell burst open, but many did, spewing beer along a 200-yard stretch of roadway and causing one suds-loving motorist to stop and cry in horror.
Investigators found stress cracks in the frame of the wrecked semitrailer. A few cases remained inside the trailer after the accident in this Detroit suburb. There were no injuries.
