The University of Utah seismograph station reported a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred at 7:11 a.m. Thursday in southern Utah.

The epicenter of the shock was 3 miles northeast of St. George and immediately west of the town of Washington, 268 miles south of Salt Lake City. The earthquake was felt by St. George residents, but there has been no reports of damage.This earthquake was the largest in the area since a magnitude 5.8 shock on Sept. 2, 1992.
