It has been my experience, and I wanted to inform others, that one is better off putting money into a savings account to use for auto trouble than buying an extended service contract. My service contract was part of my financing package - I am still paying on it - but my contract is up, my engine needs re-placing and the money is gone. I paid money in for over two years and now I cannot use it. Had I put it in a savings account instead of an extended service contract, I would now have that money to replace my engine. I must now look to financing a new engine to get my car running again. My advice: Es-tab-lish a savings account and pay yourself rather than an outside service. Then you will be certain to have the money.
