The Springville Museum of Art is hosting the 25th Annual National Quilt Show through Aug. 9. Seventeen awards were presented by Marsha Harward, chairperson of the show, Ann Lewis, president of the Utah Quilt Guild and Sharon Gray of the museum. Judges for the show were Priscilla Kawakami, Jean Marshall and Barbara Osler. They were assisted by Sharon Geurts, Joyce Sly, Ann Wilcox, Jill Cox and Kendra Hall. Best of Show Award was presented to Janice Dawson, the Director's Award went to Dawna Swenson and the Master Quilt Award went to Marva Dalebout. The show runs through Aug. 9.
- The Scera Art Gallery will display the photographs of Mark A. Philbrick, photographer for Brigham Young University, through the month of July. Best known for his sports photography, Philbrick also has many travel photographs that capture the quieter moments of humanity. Both styles of work will be part of the exhibit. The Scera Art Gallery is located at 745 S. State in Orem. For further information call the gallery at 801-225-ARTS.- The Smithsonian Exhibit "Barn Again: Celebrating An American Icon" will be on display at the Monticello Museum. WORKSHOPS AND LECTURES
- Global Artways will present "Something for Everybody: Art From Around the World," by Ursula Pimental from the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. The discussion - which will take place Wednesday, July 22, from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Gallivan plaza - will enlighten participants about the wonderful multicultural artworks at the museum.
