HUNTING AND FISHING EXPO: The Hunting & Fishing Expo runs Friday through Sunday in the Salt Palace.

Along with opportunities to meet with some of the country's top guides, there will be demonstrations and displays of some of the largest big game animals in the country.

Loren Boss, the event organizer, said trophies will include the No. 1 typical and non-typical elk, the No. 1 Idaho state record and the Lloyd Barton collection of Boone and Crockett mule deer.

Also on display will be the Hunsaker Buck. This is the No. 2 non-typical mule deer taken by Alton Hunsaker in 1943. The trophy was sold several years ago, but according to Boss, Hunsaker will be at the show to see the trophy for the first time in several years.

Doors will open at noon Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday, with 10 p.m. closing times Friday and Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday.

An official scorer from Boone and Crockett will be available Friday and Saturday afternoon to mea-sure trophies.
