Donald A. Gayler, 67, died peacefully and with dignity at home, surrounded by his children and family, July 14, 1998.
He was born September 16, 1930 to Dick A. and Martha Barger Gayler in Salt Lake City, UT. Married Dianne Young August 29, 1952. Later divorced. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for ZCMI as an interior decorator in excess of 20 years. He was a devoted family man and dutifully served his God and community through St. Patrick's Catholic Church.Survived by daughters; Debra (Ryan) and Danette (John). Three grandchildren: Nicole, Ryanne, and Austin; and three great-grandchildren; brother, Dick Gayler; sisters, Geraldine Gayler and Carol Chapman; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Donnie.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 1998, at 11 a.m., in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1030 West 400 South, Salt Lake City, UT. A visitation will be held Friday evening at St. Patrick's from 6-8 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m., and again one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
