Bernie was born in Salt Lake City to Esther Johnson Fallentine and Carl E. Fallentine and was married to Edith Dixon Fallentine from 1936 to 1969 and Lois Merrill Fallentine from 1972 to 1997. As a young man, he had a passion for horses and the Ute Rangers; later on, you could usually find him in three places: working in real estate; meticulously tending his flowers; or on his boat at Flaming Gorge.

He will be missed and remembered by his sister, Naomi Weyher; his five children: Jody Chidester, Carolyn Gilstrap, Robert Fallentine, Susan Flatberg, Michael Fallentine and their spouses and families and his friends. At Bernie's request, his body was donated to the University of Utah Medical Center. Also according to his wishes, there will be no funeral; instead, a party will be held to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to take someone you love to lunch.
