Sharon Schmidt Overstake, 53, died July 7, 1998 in Denver, Colorado, following a valiant battle with cancer.

Born April 13, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph J. and Mary D. Schmidt. Sharon graduated from Utah State University. While in college, she served as the president of the Tri-Delt Sorority, and a member of ROTC Sponsor Corps. Sharon enjoyed a successful career as a Certified Kitchen Designer at Wm. Ohs Showrooms in Denver. Sharon spent many hours as a volunteer with and past president of Cancer League of Colorado. She was a member of the LDS Church.Sharon is survived by her three sons, Daniel Garrett, Joseph Conor, and Richard Ryan Overstake, all of Denver; sisters, Joan (Bob) Moss, South Jordan; and Pauline Hansen, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service Saturday, July 11, 1998, at 12 noon at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
