Sergie Ventura of Virginia Beach, Va., 27, a professional skateboarder, performs stunts during the Van's Warped Tour Saturday to the delight of the Utah State Fairpark audience. The tour returned to the Utah State Fairpark for a full day of music, extreme acrobatics and food. The Specials, Save Ferris, Rancid, Unwritten Law and Bad Religion were just a few of the 33 ska and punk bands that took to the two stages. The event, which started off originally catering to the skate and punk crowd, has expanded its styles to link up with ska and swing fans. In addition to the skating and music, there were BMX dirt-bike stunts and open skating, where members of the audience were allowed to take to the plywood half-pipes. This year's Warped Tour opened its gates at 10 a.m. and closed around 8:30 p.m. Please see review on page B6.
