Prosecutors say the woman took another woman's purse while at Smith's in West Valley City on July 3, according to charges filed in Third District Court Wednesday. The victim chased the woman down and struggled with her. At that time, the woman told the victim she "had a gun and would shoot her," the probable cause statement said.Store security responded and took the woman to a store office, the document stated. There, the woman "pulled out a handgun and fired it multiple times in the immediate area of two store employees who ultimately subdued her," the statement said.

The woman is charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
