Gary Edwin Miller, age 57, died on July 7, 1998 in Cedar City, Utah due to injuries sustained an automobile accident.
He was born on May 5, 1941 in Coalville, Utah, a son of Glen Edwin and Ruth Edna Reese Miller. He married Kandace Lee on February 14, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They later divorced.Gary was reared and educated in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School. Following high school he joined the Air Force. He worked in the transportation business all of his life, working for REA for 13 years and later as Terminal Manager for C.F. Air Freight for many years. At the time of his death he worked for Western Rock. Gary was awarded Transportation Man of the Year for Salt Lake City. He loved to work.
Gary was a member of the LDS Church and served as membership clerk to Bishop Jay Ence in the St. George Singles Ward. He enjoyed traveling and being around families and performing anonymous acts of kindness. Gary was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Kari (David) Park of Salt Lake City; Troy G. (Jennifer) Miller; Jake L. Miller both of St. George; David Warnick of California and Debbie. 11 grandchildren; three brothers: Derrell Miller, Merrell Miller and Myron Miller all of Salt Lake City; Special Friend Lee Ann Stark of St. George; niece Julie Johannessen "Fuzz" and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Green Valley First Ward Chapel, 511 South Valley View Dr., St. George, UT. Friends may call Friday 7 to 8:00 p.m. at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, St. George, UT and Saturday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the Chapel. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery directed by Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, St. George, UT-673-2454
