Lisa Leslie scored 24 points on her 26th birthday as the Los Angeles Sparks ended a franchise-record five-game losing streak with an 86-79 victory Tuesday night over the Charlotte Sting.

Leslie's layup off her own miss with 2:43 left broke a 74-74 tie, and Mwadi Mabika followed with a 3-pointer 40 seconds later.Tracy Reid's free throw with 59 seconds left cut the Sparks lead to 79-75, but Mabika's 3-pointer with 38 seconds remaining clinched it.

Tamecka Dixon added 19 points, Penny Toler 15 and Mabika 15, all in the second half, for Los Angeles (3-7), which moved into fourth place in the five-team Western Conference.
