Betty Gene Kay, age 67, passed away July 6, 1998 in Provo, Utah.
She was born February 15, 1931 in Sterling, Utah, to George Washington and Elda Nielson Cornwell. She married Arthur Verdon Nielson, December 20, 1947, raised nine children, divorced 1978. She married Kent Duane Kay October 7, 1979 in Nephi, Utah.She was a member of the LDS church and was very active in Mona community affairs, as a business woman and supporter of many functions.
Survived by her husband of Mona; children, Paula (Bob) Matotek; Christine (Denny) Stapley; Valerie (Tom) Stechschulte; Gregory (Catherine Nielson; Jeffery (Celesta) Nielson; Russell (Bambie) Nielson; Lewis (Angela) Nielson; Dana Nielson; Darrell (Jennifer) Nielson; Michael (Ellen) Kay; Toni Kay; brothers, Melvin, Clinton, and Allen Cornwell; 38 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Keith Cornwell and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, July 10, 1998 in the Mona LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services at the Mona LDS Church. Burial in the Mona Cemetery.
