One Salt Lake residential garage was destroyed and another was damaged in a fire Saturday evening.
Fire crews responded to 1452 S. 200 East about 11 p.m. to find one of the family's garages fully engulfed in flames, said Salt Lake City Fire Capt. Devin Villa."They established a fast attack," Villa said, "but before crews could get water on it, the garage was completely consumed and had spread to a second garage" at the same residence.
Officials estimate $10,000 to $15,000 damage. The residence was not affected by the fire. Nearby houses lost power for a short time, Villa said, but electricity was restored within hours.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The family was home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured.
